This site exists thanks to the steadfast dedication and generosity of a few who've shared my vision from the beginning: Dan Scheff, Gia Jobin, and Doug Wolf. Thanks enormously to Steve, for backing me on KFH as he's done with Wine Sisters USA.
Special thanks to children's songwriter and musician Wayne Potash for creating "Heroes to Me" which communicates in song the sentiments of countless Americans.
Field Day Sponsors
This site launched June 18, 2005 to a public celebration in Weston, Massachusetts. KFH wishes to thank the following for making the day a success: all firefighters, police and CAP heroes present with special thanks to Weston's Fire Chief Ed Walker, Chief of Police Steven Shaw and CAP Capt. Richard Werman for their personal involvement. Thanks to MASS State Police and Civil Air Patrol for landing/flying aircraft and photographer Marjorie Nichols and Clark's Self Defense for sharing their talents. Thanks to our models - Cory, Chelsea, Kendall, Jordan, Mary Kate, Theo and Jonathan and their parents in addition to volunteers Jenn Mello, Tiffany Ramm, Meghan Follansbee, Joanne Ruane and Vyctoria Thwreatt; your participation was essential. Thanks to Director Rhoda Pires and current cadet class of Reading Regional Police Academy for allowing me inside - with a camera no less. Last but not least, thanks to the day's cash sponsors for their support: Steve Spector, Cindy and Seth Lawry, Ellen and Norman Goldberg, Anonymous.
Site Dedication
This site was conceived and developed out of admiration and respect for emergency response heroes across our great nation who stand ready to rescue and sacrifice for us.
Kids for Heroes also recognizes the ongoing sacrifice of our nation's military troops, past and present, and their families who pay the ultimate price so we can sleep soundly at night. You are forever in our thoughts and prayers, and America thanks you.
